Patent - Dynamic Product Image Ordering in Online Store Listings

Online stores spend time on ordering their product images in a way that gives the most relevant information to the buyers first. This ordering is typically static and doesn’t change as new information about buyer’s intent is revealed during the shopping session.

Imagine a buyer includes the word “pockets” in their text search or clicks a UI element that represents pockets - This is a strong indicator that the buyer has a special interest in pockets, while the images zoomed in on the pickets are never shown as the first image. With current static ordering the buyer would need to click on each product to get to the information they are looking for.

This Patent describes how previous interactions of the user with other products and UI elements can be used to dynamically reorder the images in the product listing in a way that would be most relevant to the user at that time. This can help increase the conversion rate of the store by showing the most relevant images first.
